Insurance is not the most interesting thing in the world, but the importance it plays when things don’t go according to plan is undeniable.  Auto insurance is required by law, and when accidents happen you better hope you have it.  There are many auto insurance providers out there, almost all of which seem to promise they can save you hundreds of dollars a year over your current insurer. 

Whether or not these companies actually can save you that much money is hard to say as auto insurance rates vary so much depending on the individual.  But with individualized comparison charts now offered online it has become more transparent.  Do your research and make sure you aren’t getting something that sounds too good to be true.  There are genuinely cheap auto insurance providers out there.  But if the amount of coverage is set alarmingly low or the insurance company has a poor track record with claims, you might want to consider paying a little more now rather than paying a lot more in wake of an accident.
